This 1-day excursion will introduce us to the jewel of architecture – the Taj Mahal. On the way to Dubai, we will stop in Agra for 1 day to view the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was rebuilt by order of a descendant of the great Tamerlane. This process took about 22 years.
More than 20 thousand people and a thousand elephants were involved in the construction. Taj Mahal was erected in memory of Shah Jahan’s beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. Later, the inconsolable widower himself was buried here.
The Taj Mahal or Crown of Palaces exhibits a unique blend of Persian, Indian and Islamic styles. It is perfectly symmetrical and has harmonious proportions. Luxurious white marble shimmers and shines in the sun, and luxurious inlay made of semiprecious stones amazes with its wealth.
