What to take on a trip on a yacht? 1 — Sparks Life Worldwide

What to take on a trip on a yacht?

Useful life hacking when planning a trip on a yacht.

What to take on a trip on a yacht? After spending a few days on a yacht trip with a dozen crew members and a number of other passengers, it was easy to make a list of what to take with you and what to leave on land when you are preparing for your first (or next) voyage. When you go out on the water, follow the tips listed below.

  1. Keep everything simple. Even on popular cruise lines, space in the rooms is limited. Do not take with you a bag that will slide under the bed or will not fit on the small shelf of the cabinet. Collect clothes that you don’t want to wear several times and avoid large cosmetics, especially on a dive boat where nobody cares if your hair dries after a day in the water. Think very carefully about what you might need, and cross out everything else from your list.
  2. Choose smart clothing options. Tip number one: There are tons of great quick-drying fabrics. Make sure you invest in a few key items before you board the ship. If you swim, take one or two additional bathing suits with you (believe me, they do not dry out quickly in the humid ocean air) to avoid the unpleasant feeling of a wet bathing suit. Tip number two: Avoid light-colored clothing. A long white skirt, which was perfect for the desert, will not look good on you on a yacht, besides, light clothing also often shines through in a wet state. Bring T-shirts and socks for every day or more. Also do not forget about light shirts, a few pairs of pants and shorts. Take care of outerwear – in the evenings on board it is cold enough. Also, interchangeable shoes will not interfere, besides, the yacht can not go on heels or platform.
  3. Pack waterproof and windproof accessories. To prevent exposure to the sun, bring hats and clothing that will help on a windy day. To avoid falls, take sandals with a good tread so that you can move easily on slippery decks and stairs. Flip flops are nice, but you can tell them “scionara” if you suddenly fall into the water. The same goes for sunglasses. Be sure to pack eyewear and sandals! On the other hand, there is no guarantee that even when the sea looks as smooth as a pancake, the wind will not pick up a hot cup of coffee as soon as you pour it. Throw a travel mug into the bag with a secure, closing top – you will not regret it.
  4. Hygiene items, medicines and other necessary items. Between exposure to the sun and playing in salt water, the body is easily dehydrated on a boat. Take water with you so that no matter where you are, in which case you can always refresh yourself. Get ready for a possible motion sickness! Even people with an iron stomach can become a victim of motion sickness on a windy day. Dimenhydrinate, commonly known under the trade name Dramamine, is a popular over-the-counter drug, but it is better to take it at night because it can make you sleepy.
  5. Gloves for yachting, snorkel and mask. Gloves are needed in order to feel like a captain, to guide at the helm. If you are planning to snorkel or dive (what follows!), We would recommend that you buy your own mask to ensure good visibility and comfort while swimming. After you buy a suitable mask, spend some time rubbing toothpaste on the inside of the mask, around the eyes and nose. MikeBallExpeditions dive masters recommend this technique so that your mask does not sweat in the water.
  6. Chargers for your devices. There may be several 220V sockets on board, but only a few of them can work when going out for swimming. Be careful, do not forget to bring along an extra charged portable battery to recharge your phone or camera. Be prepared for the fact that someone also wants to take advantage of your exercises.
  7. Games. There can be a lot of downtime on the boat. Make a contribution to social life, taking with you on board a set of cubes or a deck of cards. In addition to being a good way to meet other passengers, you can also end up learning new games.

In addition, communication is great, but be prepared to spend hours of time on yourself, often without Wi-Fi or cellular. Being in the sea is a great time to find out what novels are formed on the pages of an old and kind paper written in ink. Get detailed advice.
