Top 7 Fastest Aircrafts for Rent

November 19, 2021

Unlike military aircrafts, fighters, in particular, civil planes are far from the speed records. Thus, the average speed of a passenger airliner is seldom close even to Mach 1, the speed of the sound (on average, civil aircraft flies not faster than 800 km/h). Therefore, a 2000 km flight between Rome and Stockholm will take approximately 2.5 hours. Not as fast as we would like it to be. This article, however, is not devoted to ordinary “buses with wings,” but to real record-holders, jets that allow you to fly at speeds that come close or even exceed the speed of the sound: Mach 1, Mach 2, Mach 3 … Aircraft for rent – when you rent one, it will take you to the destination airport at the top of the technical capabilities of their time.

  1. Dassault Falcon 900 EX.

Modern medium aircraft for rent, designed to transport an average group of people (up to 19 people). This jet is equipped with 3 Honeywell TFE731-60 engines; it can reach the maximum speed of 1065 km/h. The comfortable and cozy cabin of this aircraft is intended for 15 passengers and can be divided into three sections. One of the features of this aircraft is the luggage compartment. It can be accessed from the cabin during the flight. The flight range of the Dassault Falcon 900 EX is approximately 8000 km.

  1. Bombardier Global 6000.

This is a medium aircraft designed to transport the average group of people (up to 19). The jet engines of this aircraft allow it to reach the speeds of almost 1100 km/h. It stands out against the background of competitors in its class, although its maintenance and rent cost more. Despite their small size, these jets can have a private cabin, bathroom and even a kitchen on board. The maximum flight range, when fully loaded, is no more than 10,000 km.

  1. Dassault Falcon 7X.

This business jet is a relative of the Dassault Falcon 900 EX, based on the platform of Falcon 900. Its jet engines allow it to reach the speed of 1150 km/h. This is a super-technological machine, which uses the best aviation technologies of its time, so this aircraft is not only high-speed but also rather cost-effective – it consumes 20-30% less fuel than its competitors of the same class. At the same time, it is also very comfortable – the height of the cabin allows passengers to stand during the flight. Its flight range is approximately 11,000 km (10 people on board, including crew members), which enables it to fly between countries and even continents without a stopover.

  1. Cessna Citation X.

Another representative of the business aircraft class produced by the American company, Cessna Aircraft. A pair of its jet engines allow this airplane to reach the speed of up to 1200 km/h. Thanks to such impressive specifications, this jet can significantly reduce the flight time. For example, a flight from Los Angeles to New York will be, on average, an hour shorter than on another aircraft of the same class. As for the flight range, it is considerably shorter than that of the other jets from this list – about 5500 km.

  1. Concorde.

This is not simply a high speed jet; it is a real Wonder of the World! This is not just a figure of speech; Concorde is officially listed as one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World – the only machine in this list. Its 4 SNECMA Olympus 593 engines allowed this aircraft to reach the speed of 2 Mach (which is two times faster than the speed of the sound). The maximum cabin capacity was 108 people; the maximum flight range reached 7200 km. Despite all its great features, Concorde jet was very fuel hungry (it consumed about 25 tons of fuel per hour!), and this ultimately led to the discontinuation of the model in 2003. However, since this is a unique machine, we could not help but include it on our list.

  1. TU 144.

When you look at this incredible super-jet, it is hard to believe that it was developed in the 1960s. This is the world’s first supersonic passenger aircraft. Unique technical solutions applied in this jet allow it to reach the speed of 2430 km/h (the cruising speed comprises 2300 km/h). It is a lot like Concorde and they even appeared at about the same time. But just like its “European sibling,” it consumed a huge amount of fuel. The aircraft flew during the period of time from 1975 to 1983. Finally, its flights were considered uneconomical and were discontinued. In total, 20 of these machines have been produced throughout the history.

  1. Boom Supersonic.

Boom Supersonic is an ambitious attempt made by aircraft designers aimed at renewing commercial supersonic transportation. Moreover, according to the idea of its developers, it is intended to make flights available to the general public (the cost of the ticket, in any case, should have been less than $2,500). Sam Altman, Richard Branson, and Joe Lonsdale have already invested in this pioneering US startup. The project is at an early stage, and they plan to start the flights of this new three-engine 55-passenger aircraft with a cruise speed of Mach 2.2 by 2025. We are looking forward to this moment.

The super-jets for rent described above stand out against the background of other business jets, they can deliver passengers much faster than conventional aircraft, but at the same time, they provide a high level of comfort, because they represent exclusive aircraft.
